WhatsApp Users, Please Pay Attention to these Tips.
When WhatsApp Inc launched its instant messaging app 6yrs ago, CEO Jan Koum was
less than certain that the application would thrive. The early version of the app kept
crashing or getting jammed at a particular point. Koum nearly gave up on the application
but his co-founder, Brian Acton convinced him otherwise. Fast-forward in September
2015, WhatsApp is now the most successful instant messaging app with an active user
base of 900 million.
Because of the application’s huge success, a lot of developers have come up with
numerous ways to enhance the experience of active users.
Managing multiple WhatsApp Accounts on one phone
It is now possible to run two WhatsApp accounts on a single smartphone. There is an
app called ‘Ogwhatsapp’ that can assist users perform this function. (Especially on
android devices)
Firstly, a user must make a full backup of their messages or data before going on to run
‘Ogwhatsapp apk 2015’. Clear WhatsApp information. Go to and rename
/sdcard/WhatsApp folder to ‘/sdcard/OGWhatsApp’.
Uninstall the initial WhatsApp app and install ‘Ogwhatsapp apk 2015’. Provide the old
mobile number used to install the main WhatsApp account when requested. Click Ok.
The ‘Ogwhatsapp’ application is now ready with the old number.
For a second WhatsApp account go to Google Playstore and download the official
WhatsApp application. Use a ‘new second number’ when asked. The end results, two
multiple WhatsApp accounts.
Password security Application
Privacy on messaging applications has always been an issue. Keeping private
conversations private is in everyone’s interest. In May 2011, there was a security flaw
which left WhatsApp user accounts open for session invasion and packet analysis.
Data was sent and received in plaintext, meaning messages could basically be read if
packet traces were obtained. WhatsApp Inc released on September 2011, a new
version of the app which fixed the problem. There are a lot of security applications
available on various platforms to keep one’s WhatsApp account safe. The most efficient
one at the moment is ‘WhatsApp lock’.
‘WhatsApp lock’ is available on both Playstore and App store (iOS). Simply install the
application and attach a new password to it. That’s it.
Deleted Messages Recovery
Analysts say WhatsApp Inc administer about 1.5 billion messages a day. With so much
data floating around, it is likely a malfunction or some other hitch can crop up that will
cause an account holder to misplace or mislay their data. Luckily, there are ways to
recover important messages when this happens.
The WhatsApp app innately saves all conversations on the SD cards of mobile devices.
Go to the device’s SD card, go to WhatsApp Database; look for the
‘msgstore.db.crypt’ file which contains all messages received and sent on the same
day. In the same place, look for ‘msgstore-yyyy..dd..db.crypt’ which contains all
messages received and sent in the last seven days.
Simply open these files with any type of ‘text editor’ and all lost WhatsApp messages
will become accessible.
According to reports by the Financial Times, the WhatsApp messaging app “has done to
SMS on mobile phones what Skype did to international calling on landlines”. This mobile
application has very revolutionized the way smartphone users communicate
remarkably. Let’s see what the future holds.
